As an independent advisor, Group W Investment Management is able to provide objective, unbiased investment management services and guidance.

The firm is not associated with any dealer of securities, and Group W receives no trading commissions.  This allows us to provide truly objective and personalized service to our clients.

How It Works

Separately Managed Accounts:

Unlike a hedge fund or a mutual fund, all investments managed by Group W are registered in the client’s name and held in an individual and separate account at a third-party custodian of the client’s choosing.  Fidelity Institutional Wealth Services, a large and highly regarded investment firm, is the custodian primarily used by Group W.  However if a client so desires, assets can be held in custody at any registered brokerage firm.

Investment Policy Statements:

Based on each client’s investment needs, Group W develops an specific asset allocation for each client consisting of three components: equity, fixed-income, and cash.

The asset allocation is customized according to each client's:

  • investment objectives,
  • risk tolerance,
  • amount and timing of cash-flow needs,
  • and tax considerations.

An Investment Policy Statement (IPS), which spells out in writing the target allocation, is provided to the client and is used as a guideline for the management of each account.                                                                             Group W manages and reevaluates client portfolios on a regular, on-going basis.

Documentation:

Clients receive monthly account statements and transaction confirmations directly from the custodian/broker.  Group W produces for each client a personalized quarterly report which outlines the performance of the account, the transaction history for the previous three month period, and the current account holdings.
